25, 2000):
"Actually, I was with 442 for only about six months at Canp Shelby. At the time I had enlisted, most a Nisei doctors and dentists were apparently assigned to 442 and by the time I arrived, there were about 35 doctors and dentists in 442. I think the T/O calls for only seven Medical Officers for a regiment. As a result, men of 442 might wonder who I was. Subsequently, the surplus Medical Officers were shipped to various places and four of us were sent to the Seventh Armored Division which was all packed to go to ETO. We left New York harbor on D Day. I was really surprised to see my picture and
war record on your web. I would like to make a small correction.
Although I was with a combat unit, I do not own a combat medic ribbon.
I do own a silver star. The other
